GED Program

General Educational Development (GED) is the first step you can take to prepare yourself for higher education, technical training, attaining your high school diploma, or achieving a personal goal. We are an official testing center in the State of RI. We can also prepare you for pre-testing, administer final testing, and offer classes

How do I get started?

1. First, you will fill out an application and submit a registration fee of $25.
2. Next, you will then be given a screening test to determine your overall skill level in the areas of reading and math.
3. Based on those scores, you will be advised of your educational plan developed within five different subjects: Reading, Writing Skills, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
4. Once it is determined that you are ready to test, we will administer the official practice test in that subject. A total score of 2250 points is needed to pass all five subjects, including required minimum passing scores for each test.

General Information

• All applicants must present a current RI Drivers License or RI Picture ID at time of actual GED test
• Classes are offered to students 16 years or older. Students younger than 18 years are encouraged to contact the office for additional documentation.
• A screening test will be administered at registration
• Upon acceptance, all fees must be paid via cash or money order only
• Attendance is mandatory
• All eligible Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut residents welcome
• Classes follow Cranston Public School calendar
