This course is a four to five month program of phlebotomy theory and classroom training. This class will cover blood-sampling procedures, anatomy, physiology, blood and cell composition, laboratory operations as well as Basic EKG . Supplies needed for the first week of class: a 2-3" 3-ring binder and notebook. By week two: each student needs to wear scrubs.
If you have not had medical terminology, you must register for this pre-requisite in order to take Phlebotomy. An additonal cost of $250 applies. All students are welcome to retake this course as well.
Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Medical Terminology starts October 13, 2015 with Phlebotomy to follow at the conclusion of Medical Terminology, 7 weeks later.
Pretesting by appointment is required at $25 by money order. Once you have pretested and are accepted into this program, you need to obtain a BCI from the RI Attorney General and tuition to reserve your seat. All programs are based on a first come, first serve basis. If you pretest and are accepted, you want to complete the registration ASAP as you may not have a reserved seat!
Tuition and the book for Phlebotomy is $1050.00, due and payable upon acceptance into this program. This fee includes national testing.
Tuition and book for Medical Terminology $250.00.
Combined Medical Terminology and Phlebotomy with national testing is $1,300.00
